It was a wet weekend in Staffordshire and only 2 of the clubs games were played over the weekend. This hasn’t helped Stafford firsts whose game at home to Eccleshall in division 2 was washed out without a ball being bowled. Better weather further north meant other results didn’t go their way and they have now slipped back into the bottom 2 with 2 games to play. Stafford now face a crucial visit to Woore on Saturday and they are currently 6 points adrift of safety.
2nds and 3rd XI’s
The seconds and thirds managed games but the weather made batting very difficult and both side fell to 7 wicket defeats after losing the toss and being asked to bat. The seconds lost at Bagnall Norton on the Sunday and the thirds at Moddershall A on Saturday. The only highlights for Stafford were 3 wickets each for Matt Jefferson and Joe Rowell and 27 runs from Dane Beardmore. Stafford seconds entertain Silverdale this Saturday with a 12-30pm start at Riverway.
